PDF automation in Prepare runs on callas pdfToolbox — the leading technology for standards-based preflight and correction, which Durst acquired in April 2025. This combines proven prepress quality with the openness and connectivity of the Durst Open Software Initiative (OSI). Via REST API and XML hotfolders you connect Prepare to your ERP/MIS with ease.

Three editions: Starter, Automate and Integrate

• Starter — 1 user, 1 included PDF Editor licence, 10 approval projects. Ideal to get started with automated preflight, correction, imposition and online approval. (Not compatible with Produce or Durst Workflow products.)

• Automate — unlimited users, 3 PDF Editor licences, 20 approval projects, plus hotfolders and the jobticket hotfolder (XML) for fully automated intake and processing.

• Integrate — everything in Automate, plus bidirectional integration between ERP/MIS and Prepare. Project price on request.
