Connecting GSApi to MultiPress

Securely expose MultiPress to the internet and connect it to GSApi via an API user. Five steps from web-server setup to a working connection (HTTP 200).

To let GSApi communicate with MultiPress, make MultiPress securely reachable and connect it via an API user. In five steps.

Step 1: Configure MultiPress

MultiPress must be reachable from the internet (WAN) so GSApi can find it. In MultiPress go to [Settings > Internet]. If you lack the rights, contact your system administrator or your contact at Dataline.

Step 2: Set up the MultiPress web server

Configure the MultiPress web server. The port number and SSL port are the internet ports on the computer/server running MultiPress: the regular port is unsecured, the SSL port handles secure traffic. The external IP is for internet access, the internal IP for the local network. An open unsecured port does not mean data just comes in — there is always authentication between GSApi and MultiPress.

Step 3: Create an API user

In the connector, create an API user (for example "GSApi" or "GrafiStore") with a strong password. Make sure the user is active and all modules are enabled. An API user differs from an employee account and is meant for web services.

Step 4: Configure the firewall

Have your IT set up port forwarding from WAN to MultiPress. If your firewall blocks the whole internet, whitelist gsapi.nl and demo.gsapi.nl. Set a NAT rule that forwards a port of your external IP to the internal IP and port of your MultiPress server.

  • Required for GSApi: WAN IP address + port number, and username + password;

  • Important: do not send these together in one email, but separately.

Step 5: Set up GSApi

In GSApi go to [MultiPress > Server configuration] and add a new server with the details above. After a correct configuration you receive HTTP status 200 — all good. Then you can fetch Autofill items, default calculations and relations. GrafiStore can perform and test this setup for you; keep your details safe, because GrafiStore does not store them.
