Griffin & Phoenix 26.07: Portuguese, bound booklets and faster planning

Alongside PitStop, Griffin and Phoenix also received a 26.07 update. Griffin adds Portuguese and polishes the details, while Phoenix gains a new bound booklet assembly mode plus an updated planning engine.

The Enfocus 26.07 release of 7 July 2026 was mostly about PitStop, but Griffin and Phoenix got an update too. Two very different releases: Griffin is mainly a maintenance round, while Phoenix genuinely adds new functionality. Here is a short overview of both.

Griffin 26.07: Portuguese and a tighter foundation

Griffin — the large-format nesting and production tool from Enfocus — deliberately keeps 26.07 small. The main addition is full support for the Portuguese interface language, handy for teams and customers in Brazil and Portugal among others. On top of that, the release is packed with bug fixes and performance and stability improvements. No spectacular new features, then, but a more pleasant and reliable foundation to run day to day.

If you run Griffin Auto or Griffin Desktop, this is a safe, recommended update — certainly in combination with the new PitStop 26.07, as both tools work ever more closely together in large-format workflows.

Phoenix 26.07: smarter planning and bound booklets

Phoenix — the imposition, nesting and planning engine behind Phoenix2Switch among others — receives two substantive improvements in 26.07 that make the difference above all in book production and complex planning.

Advanced Bound Booklet Assembly Mode

A new mode built specifically for bound booklet work. Phoenix now optimises the folding schemes and production layouts for books and brochures more precisely, so signatures fall onto the sheet more efficiently and you waste less material and setup time. For printers who regularly produce sewn or glued booklets, this takes a good chunk of manual puzzling out of the equation.

Updated planning engine

Under the hood, the planning engine has been updated. It computes more efficient production layouts and folding schemes, which leads to better sheet usage and faster, more reliable planning results — exactly what you rely on in automated ganging and imposition.

Combined with Switch, that power really comes into its own: Phoenix2Switch brings automated imposition and nesting straight into your workflow, from MIS order to print-ready sheet.

Should you update?

For Griffin, 26.07 is a tidy maintenance update you can install with confidence. For Phoenix it is more interesting: if you produce a lot of booklet work or complex planning, the new assembly mode and planning engine deliver an immediate return. We are happy to help you find the best setup — feel free to get in touch for advice or a demo.
